Today we interview Molly McCarthy, content marketing manager at Stodzy. Molly joined the team at Stodzy earlier this year and has proven to be a valuable asset in understanding how content can lead to calls and admissions, as well as brand awareness.
Let’s learn a little more about this awkward human being named Molly.
Stephanie: Hey Molly, so your role at Stodzy is Content Marketing Manager. Tell us a little bit about what you do.
Molly: I mostly handle all of the blogs, so I create the content for every client, assign the writers, proofread and edit the articles, SEO them, put in images, sometimes ones that I create. Manage all of the writers- answer any questions they have, pay invoices as well as track results and use those results when creating new content.
Stephanie: What is the most challenging part of working in the addiction treatment industry?
Molly: Really I get bored with it. Just kidding. I think knowing that there are so many families struggling to get their kids help but they don’t quite understand addiction. As well as kids that are addicted and hopeless thinking that they can never get sober, but in my head I’ve been there and know it’s possible now being on the other side.
Stephanie: How did you become a part of the #StodzySquad?
Molly: So David became part of my homegroup, I knew him for just a few months and he hit me up one day saying there was a position open and he thought it was right up my ally and that I would be a good fit with everyone. So I came in and talked to Tim and Bryan and they hired me. The rest is history.
Stephanie: How can Stodzy make an impact in the addiction industry with content?
Molly: I think one of the things Stodzy does really well is that as a whole we understand the intent behind digital traffic for addiction treatment. So when it comes to creating content, I personally like to create content that will educate and motivate an individual to take action. Addiction is becoming a bigger problem as each day passes, so I think if we can like utilize content to inspire people to get help then we are making an impact.
Stephanie: What does it mean to you personally to work in the field of addiction?
Molly: I guess basically the same thing as question two. I know what it’s like to be in active addiction, dead inside and hopeless and thinking I’ll never get sober but now I am and like I just want to help inform families who think their kids are just bad people and have a type of moral failing, but it’s a disease and I want to help those kids or people know that no matter how far gone you think you are, you can get sober and be genuinely happy.
Stephanie: Where do you see Stodzy and yourself in 5 years?
Molly: I really only live like day to day or week to week at most. I can’t plan for anything partially because I’m irresponsible and partially because I’m indecisive. But hopefully Stodzy is an empire by that point in time.
Stephanie: Why do you <3 working at Stodzy?
Molly: I love every one of us. We have so much fun throughout the day and everyone is jazzed up to grind and it jazzes me up. We all really enjoy what we do and have a lot of fun doing it.
Stephanie: Why do drug rehabs need quality content to attract clients?
Molly: People often don’t understand the realities of addiction and sobriety. So having quality content is important to give people the real low-down on what it’s really like to be addicted to drugs and have nowhere to turn.
Stephanie: What’s your favorite….Food? Animal? Song? Show?
Molly:
- Food: CHIPOTLE
- Animal: Anything soft and cuddly that can help me fill the void in my dark soul.
- Song: Only Exception-Paramore, Work- ASAP Ferg, Show Me Love- Robin S.
- Show: Orange is the New Black or Game of Thrones… Obvi
Stephanie: Tell us why Stodzy is the future of addiction marketing.
Molly: Stodzy is the future because we really understand what it means to market an addiction treatment business. We understand the intent, the goal and the serious nature of the industry. We’re also really good at what we do and can take poorly performing websites and turn them into leaders in the addiction treatment industry.
